New Stripe version compatibility issues (2024)

Shopify recently changed their subscriptions architecture, which requires the payment providers to update how the integration between them and Shopify works.

Providers like Bankful, Authorize.net and Stripe have already started the update process to integrate with the new Shopify requirements.

However, the new Stripe version is unfortunately causing problems for some merchants who use 3rd party subscriptions apps - this extends to merchants who use our Seal Subscriptions app.

So, until these issue are resolved on Shopify's and Stripe's side, we advise you (the merchant) to keep their old Stripe version. If you already upgraded to the new Stripe integration, we suggest that you follow our instructions below or get in touch with Stripe and ask them to downgrade you back to the old version for now.

What if you already connected the new Stripe connector?

If you have already installed the new connector as your primary gateway, you can revert back to the previous connector by doing the following:

Open the following URL in a new browser. Please replace {shop) with your shop domain and exclude the.shopify.com suffix in your domain: https://admin.shopify.com/store/{shop)/settings/payments/third-party-providers/67

After doing so, simply follow the instructions on screen.
