Create a pre order subscriptrion (waiting list)
Following the steps below will make the first subscription charge for a certain product free, but you don't have to fulfill the order until the 2nd renewal, which you can set a custom date for.
The 2nd renewal should be discounted for the amount you set and will run indefinitely for the subscribers that per-order the subscription product(s).
After you launch the site, just delete the subscription rule and create a new one without the below settings.
With that said, here is a step by step guide on doing so:
1. SUBSCRIPTION RULES
- Go to: Seal Subscriptions > Subscriptions Rules and create a new rule.
- Add the desired product(s) and name the subscription.
- At the "Selling plans" section, enter the desired name, interval, requirements.
- Set the discount mode to percentage discount and set the amount to 100%.
- Check the "Change discount after specific number of payments" box and set the "Adjustment value" to your desired discount amount.
- Click on save rule.
2. FIXED SCHEDULES
- Go to: Seal Subscriptions >Fixed schedules and click on "Create fixed schedule."
- Under the "Apply on subscriptions with billing interval set to," make sure you select the correct interval you set in the subscription rules. (Eg.: 1 month if you set 1 month).
- Set the billing date to the day your store will (re)launch.
- Check the box "The customers agree with and expect to be charged according to this fixed schedule." and save.
3. QUICK CHECKOUT WIZARD
- Go to: Seal Subscriptions >Fixed schedules > Quick checkout wizard.
- Enter the selling plan and the products below.
- You've now created a quick checkout url, which can be used for the marketing scheme.
This is how it would look like in the checkout stage:
In conclusion, by following the above steps correctly, your customers can subscribe to the product(s) using the quick checkout link created for free (which will not be fulfilled) and get a discounted price once you relaunch the store. This approach not only attracts initial subscribers but also ensures they receive ongoing value, increasing long-term value and loyalty.
Remember to update or remove the subscription rules as needed after launching your site.
